General

  1. This challenge is strictly for individual participants; no team entries are allowed. Each participant will receive an e-certificate from IFP at the registered email addresses.
  2. Participants will receive the prompts online on IFP’s Instagram, as well as on the registered email ID and WhatsApp.
  3. Participants are requested to check IFP’s official social media handles (Facebook & Instagram) for updates regarding the challenge.
  4. Once participation is confirmed, refunds will not be issued.

 

Tech

  1. IFP’s 50 Hour Photography Challenge is scheduled to begin from STARTING DATE (TBA) (GMT+5:30) to END DATE (TBA) (GMT+5:30) (GMT+5:30).
  2. This is a prompt-based challenge. The first prompt will be given at the beginning of the challenge, and then every 10 hours. Participants must submit 5 photos, one photo per prompt.
  3. Each photo must be accompanied by a description (up to 100 words) explaining the thought behind it. All photographs must have a title.
  4. Each photo series must use a single aspect ratio: 16:9 (1920×1080) for Horizontal and 9:16 (1080×1920) for Vertical.
  5. All kinds of tonal adjustments, color adjustments, photo manipulation, and special effects are allowed. If using photo manipulation, the base photo must have been taken within the 50-hour period.
  6. Photographs can be edited using any mobile or desktop software. Participants can use any camera or equipment they prefer (DSLR, GoPro, Drone, Mobile Phone, etc.). There is no limit on the amount of equipment used.
  7. Photographs must be in JPEG format with the sRGB color model.
  8. All photographs must be compiled into a single presentation file (PPTX). This file must be converted to PDF before uploading. The maximum PDF file size is 1GB. Sample PPTX files for horizontal and vertical series are available [link to Horizontal PPTX sample] [link to Vertical PPTX sample].
  9. Your submission file must be renamed with your Creator ID (e.g., PH1334.pdf).

 

Submission

  1. Participants must submit their photographs and descriptions via the upload link provided via registered email ID and mobile number (WhatsApp).
  2. Along with uploading the photographs, participants must sign and submit the Creator’s Agreement online. The agreement will be sent with the theme email. [Link to Agreement]
  3. You are ideally expected to complete photo capture and editing within 48 hours and reserve 2 hours for uploading. A 4-hour extension will be provided for genuine technical difficulties with uploading.
    However, late submissions will be penalized: 0 to 1 hour late: 5% deduction; 1 to 2 hours late: 7.5% deduction; 2 to 4 hours late: 10% deduction.

 

Evaluation

  1. Your photographs will be evaluated based on: Creativity, Storytelling (of the series as a whole and individual photos), Use of Light, Treatment of the prompts, and Composition.

 

Disclaimer

  1. All participants, if selected as nominees, must be able to provide a high-resolution image suitable for printing in exhibitions, if required.
  2. For photographs in which a person is recognizable, you must be prepared to provide a model release from the subject or, if the subject is a minor, from the subject’s parent or guardian. This release will be included in the Creator’s Agreement. For street photography, while model releases may not always be obtainable, participants acknowledge that IFP is not liable for any claims arising from such images.
  3. Photos containing sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by IFP in its sole discretion, are ineligible.

 

I have rephrased the disclaimer regarding objectionable content and added the consent/release information for street photography and model releases, clarifying IFP’s position. I’ve also made sure the PPTX file information is clear and includes links to the samples. The timing is now in IST with the GMT offset. General

  • Q: I live outside the host country. Can I participate?
    • A: Absolutely! IFP welcomes entries from around the globe.
  • Q: Can I participate in multiple IFP challenges?
    • A: Yes, you can participate in other IFP challenges using the same email ID. However, each challenge requires a separate registration fee, and you will receive a separate Creator ID for each.
  • Q: Can I sponsor this challenge?
    • A: Please contact us at ritam@ifp.world for sponsorship inquiries.
  • Q: What is the Creator’s Agreement?
    • A: Each participant must sign a legally binding agreement. This agreement protects both your rights as a creator and IFP’s rights as a platform. The agreement will be provided to you via email at the beginning of the challenge, along with the prompts. Any participant not submitting the agreement will be disqualified.
  • Q: Is it an online challenge, or do I need to be in Mumbai?
    • A: The challenge is entirely online. You can participate and submit from anywhere.
  • Q: What happens after I’ve submitted my work?
    • A: If your photo series is nominated, you will receive an email notification along with the further steps that you would need to follow.

 

Tech

  • Q: What are the evaluation criteria?
    • A: Your photographs will be evaluated based on: Creativity, Storytelling (of the series as a whole and individual photos), Use of Light, Treatment of the prompts, and Composition.
  • Q: Will I get a theme to click the photos on?
    • A: No, there are no overall themes for this challenge. Instead, you will receive individual prompts every 10 hours throughout the challenge. For example, the first prompt might be “Reflection,” the second “Color,” and so on.
  • Q: Do I have to click my photo on any of the given prompts?
    • A: Yes. You must submit one photo for each prompt given, resulting in a photo series of five images.
  • Q: Can I click the photo later also on a given prompt?
    • A: Yes, you can photograph each prompt at any time during the 50-hour period.
  • Q: What is the maximum number of pictures I can submit?
    • A: You must submit one photo per prompt, for a total of five photos in your series.
  • Q: What should my photographs be about?
    • A: Your photographs should be based on the prompts provided by IFP every 10 hours.
  • Q: Can I have a team?
    • A: This is an individual participation challenge. Each participant will receive an e-certificate from IFP.
  • Q: Can we publish our photographs independently after the challenge?
    • A: You can use your photographs in any way you wish. 
  • Q: Can we include our company logo in the photograph?
    • A: Yes, you can include your company logo, but it must occupy no more than 5% of the photograph and be placed in one of the corners.
  • Q: Do I need a ‘Location Release/Model Release/release to any piece of art captured in the photograph’ to shoot on public property?
    • A: You only need a location release for privately owned property and model releases where applicable. While permits are recommended for public property, obtaining them is your responsibility. IFP is not liable for any issues arising from location choices or lack of releases.
  • Q: Can I photograph someone else’s work?
    • A: When photographing the work of others (e.g., sculptures, murals), it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up or the central subject of your photograph. Copyright for the underlying artwork remains with the original creator.
  • Q: How do you judge so many entries?
    • A: Each photoseries will be judged by an eminent jury with extensive industry experience who gives their scores to all the art works sent as per the evaluation criteria.
  • Q: Is the judging process transparent?
    • A: IFP is committed to a fair and transparent judging process. The IFP team also reviews entries to ensure fairness. We do not accept paid awards.
  • Q: Where are these photographs published?
    • A: Winning photographs from the challenge will be displayed in an exclusive photography exhibition at the IFP festival.

What is the festival all about?
IFP is a multi-staged creativity & culture festival that happens across two days with more than 180+ prominent creators from Films & OTT, Digital, Literature & Writing, Music, Design & Art, Storytelling, Audio & Podcasting, Photography, Tech & Gaming, Comedy, Culture, Advertising and Performing arts who will participate in various Conversations, Panels, Workshops, Masterclasses, Live Performances, and AMAs.

 

Are there any hidden charges?
No, only GST will be levied on the tickets as per the government’s rules and regulations.

 

When and where is the festival happening?
The festival is scheduled to take place on-ground in  Mumbai on December 6th & 7th, 2025.

 

Is the festival accessible for People of Determination?
Yes, IFP is an all-inclusive and accessible festival. We will be tying up with an accessibility management agency to ensure the same.

 

Can I attend all the sessions?
Yes, you will have access to all the sessions taking place across all 2 days. However Stage entry and seating will be on a first come first serve basis.

 

Where can I buy tickets?

Will there be an award ceremony for the challenges?
Yes, the winners of all the challenges of IFP will be awarded during the festival. Kindly check the schedule regarding the same.

 

What will be the timings of the festival?
The first session on October 12 & 13, 2024 (i.e. Saturday and Sunday) will start at 10am and the last session will end at 9pm.

 

I’m a member of the media? How do I make arrangements for a media pass?
You can  fill-up the form with relevant details and request for media invite.

 

Wow, there are lots of artists taking sessions! Will I get to personally interact with them?
There is no guarantee, however, you could plan for the questions you would want to ask in the event and if you are lucky, you will get an opportunity to ask them.

 

Will there be food at the venue?
Yes, there will be a food zone at the festival. 

 

Will there be parking at the venue?
No, there will be no parking available at the venue.

 

Is there any age limit/rule?
No. The festival is open to all ages.

What is your ticket policy?
Tickets are purchased online through our (platform) and on-ground on festival days. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

What are some of the general measures that ensure safety in all forms at the festival?
Harassment, abuse , stalking, threatening or defaming/ violating any rights (right to privacy and publicity) is not allowed and will be taken seriously. Attendees are not allowed to carry any harmful substances, weapons or arms of any kind.
